ALIA HANDS OVER 100 BUSES TO BENUE LINKS TRANSPORT COMPANY

In a significant development for Benue State, Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia demonstrated his commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure by handing over 100 Hiace buses to Benue Links Transport Company. This move comes in response to the challenges faced by travellers following the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.

Governor Alia expressed his pride in this milestone achievement for his administration during the handover ceremony. He emphasized that the provision of these buses fulfills his earlier promise to the people of the state. The primary aim is to offer affordable transportation options for passengers and their goods.

Transportation stands as a fundamental necessity in modern life, Governor Alia highlighted. He urged the management of Benue Links Transport Company to uphold professionalism among drivers, expand route networks, and decrease transportation fares. These measures aim to enhance the overall traveling experience, particularly with the approaching Yuletide season.

Commendation for Proactive Measures

Governor Alia extended his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing palliatives. These measures allow states to address the specific needs of their citizens. He further pledged to provide additional vehicles once the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered buses become available for use.

During the ceremony, various dignitaries including the Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode, the Commissioner for Power and Transport, Barr. Oga Mathew Omale, and the acting Managing Director of the Company, Alexander Faanafa, commended Governor Alia for his proactive initiative.
